About Me & This Brand

Who Am I?

Ha, good one! Still trying to figure that one out; but the facts are; my name is Charity Johnson, I am a mom of two amazing boys (both of whom have special needs), an Entrepreneur, and Technical Project Manager. I have worked in the entertainment industry since I graduated College with a film degree, and have a true love for creating beautiful things whether through editing a beautiful movie, writing a gipping story, creating that coffee flavor that knocks your socks off, or watching someone’s face light up when they starts seeing a change in their face through my concoction.

My life is filled with big hugs, loads of love, chaos, early mornings, late nights, doctor appointments, the 9-5, and ALL my side businesses (check out Nerd Java,  PirateWorX Media + now this), all which I could not do without an amazing partner who supports all my crazy, and loves me through and through, even when he doesn’t understand me.

Why Skincare?

For over 20 years, I have been experimenting with essential oils and cosmetic compounds, observing trends and seeking the perfect combination to maintain a healthy appearance while reducing fine lines and wrinkles on my skin.

To be honest, this journey has not been easy. I face numerous challenges that negatively impact my skin daily. I have a linalool allergy, which includes both natural and artificial fragrances, as well as cystic acne, a struggle I’ve experienced since puberty—I’m now in my 40s. I have been on Accutane twice for a total of three years in my late 30s to help reduce the effects on my face when I mistakenly eat legumes (except coffee, thank goodness).

Additionally, I deal with unwanted chin hair (the kind that isn’t peach fuzz), intense forehead lines that have been present since high school, and ice pick acne scars that even lasers can’t diminish. I also experience an overwhelming amount of stress, ingrown hairs, and the plain exhaustion that comes from not getting enough sleep.

So why am I sharing all of my imperfections? Because there is too much feigned perfection in the world. Those who visit my site are likely to relate to my experiences—people trying to feel better about the faces they present to the world. Many of us, whether we are navigating peri-menopause, have already completed that phase, or are younger and just trying to understand why their skin has challenges, realize that in real life, we are all perfectly imperfect.

Aging With Grace

We all know aging is part of life, and although I have not discovered the “fountain of youth,” like most men and women out there, I am trying to age as gracefully as possible. Over the past 20 years I have been researching, experimenting, and developing a serum that work for ALL my issues. Not an easy feat.

My passion for skincare began at 21, right after college, when I met the man who would later become my husband, the father of my children, and my business partner. He is 12 years older than I am, but everyone thought I was dating a younger man.

That was quite the blow to my ego!

Woman in 30s

I realized I needed to learn how to take care of my skin for the long haul in an affordable way. As a fresh college graduate with dreams of becoming an Oscar-winning actress, like many other brown-haired, green-eyed beauties, I had $0 in my pocket but passion for miles.

Gradually, skincare became a significant part of my life because how I presented myself, both in personality and appearance, was crucial in my chosen industry. I also observed my younger sister neglecting her skin year after year, finding it too complicated and time-consuming. I wanted to create a product that would be ready for her when she hit that “OMG, I’m old” phase.

Although I didn’t land that Oscar-winning audition, I continued to nurture my love for skincare. Over the past 20 years, I have closely followed trends, tested essential oil mixtures, and observed new product launches as better skincare compounds became available.

Most of my experiments were conducted on myself, but in 2024, my mom and sisters began testing the products intermittently.

Living Without Linalool

Also in 2024, I had to stop using all skincare products overnight after enduring months of allergy testing that led to my diagnosis of a linalool allergy. What is linalool? It’s a fragrance compound found in perfumes and many products that make the world smell pleasant.

I cannot have any fragrance, whether natural or artificial, on my skin without experiencing a severe chemical-type burning reaction within seconds of contact. For those who don’t understand, wherever fragrance touches, my skin melts away in an excruciating burning process. Many people share this allergy with varying degrees of reactions, so we all empathize with each other’s pain.

Once I received my diagnosis, I eliminated all skincare, perfumes, shampoos, conditioners, mousses, razors, foods, air fresheners, deodorants, and more overnight. I poured all my efforts into completing this product. A couple of years later, I have something I am proud of and want to share with as many people as possible.

This product is my gift to you.
